[Leadership roles within ASID Carolinas]
While in school at Appalachian State I focused my efforts of cultivating my leadership skills to the American Society of Interior Designers, specifically the Carolinas Chapter. Being heavily involved in ASID for the past three years, I have expanded my network and grown as a designer. My involvement with ASID began while at Appalachian State University. In 2012, I created Appalachian's ASID Student Chapter and held the Student Chapter President position. As our chapter grew I applied and received the position of ASID Carolinas Student Rep to the Board for the 2013-2014 school year. The Carolinas Chapter encompasses the Interior Design students and professionals of North and South Carolina. As of October 1st 2014 I was offered and accepted the position of ASID Carolinas Student Affairs Committee Chair for the 2014-2015 school year. I believe whole heartedly in its mission to rebrand the profession of Interior Design to one of being the change in people's lives through informed design.
